Starting in mid-2019, Daimler and Bosch will offer customers in California a shuttle service with automated vehicles on select routes.
Daimler Mobility Services, a subsidiary of Daimler Financial Services, is planning to operate this test fleet and the app-based mobility service. This pilot project will show how mobility services such as car-sharing (car2go), ride-hailing (mytaxi) and multimodal platforms (moovel) can be intelligently combined to shape the future of mobility.
With the development and collaboration for fully automated and driverless driving in urban environments, Bosch and Daimler want to improve the flow of traffic in cities, increase road safety and provide an important building block for future traffic.
Soon our customers will be able to conveniently order car-sharing or a driverless car via their smartphones. The vehicle will come to the driver, rather than the driver coming to the vehicle.
