Daimler Financial Services has presented its annual Emerging Artist Award for the fourth time. This year the award went to the young U.S. artist Zachary Ostrowski, a graduate of the Cranbrook Academy of Art.
Even during the current crisis, the employees of Daimler Financial Services, which has its headquarters on the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, are taking toolboxes in hand to bring practical assistance to troubled neighborhoods. DFS is the financial services provider of Daimler AG.
At Daimler Financial Services, new business decreased by 12% compared with the prior-year quarter to €5.9 billion. Contract volume amounted to €62.0 billion at the end of the first quarter, which was 2% lower than at the end of 2008.
Habitat for Humanity Germany presented its Partner Company of the Year 2008 award to Daimler Financial Services AG. The renowned international aid organization Habitat for Humanity builds houses for the needy. The award, which the organization was presenting for the first time, honors companies that fulfill their social responsibility in new ways.

Operating in more than 40 countries, Daimler Financial Services is the most international captive financial services provider. Daimler Financial Services has 7,100 employees and manages a contract volume of 63 billion Euro.
